Over the years, stocking of crappie has occurred throughout the united states The crappie spread quickly to rivers, streams and lakes and if left unchecked can over populate quite quickly and crowd out other species.
Well enough with the background on the crappie so lets get to the teeth of this article and that is to give you some valuable crappie fishing tips about proper crappie gear, and crappie baits. To be consistent at catching the crappie you need to understand them and learn how to catch them. I have developed a list of fishing tips that I think will be very helpful when you plan on fishing for crappie.
#1: Crappie Gear Without the right fishing gear you will have a rough time catching crappie. You need to have a good long crappie rod with a sensitive tip, a graphite pole over 8ft long is better, but an old bamboo pole will work also. If you intend to get your self a a good graphite crappie pole you will need a matching spin cast reel that is rated for 4 to 6lb test line. If you are getting the bamboo pole it will have a crappie rig attached for you.

#2:- Crappie Baits: You can go in two directions, you can either use live or artificial baits. If you are new to crappie fishing it may be better to start out with live bait. You will have better success catching fish. You don't want to get frustrated early and not give the sport a chance. In medieval times, anglers fished for food, but the sport has evolved over the years to become a real test of skills. Anyone who has become involved in the sport of fly fishing knows how addictive in can be - but in a very good way!

Fly fishing is markedly different from regular fishing. With plain fishing, you use lures and often live bait to bring fish to your line and hook them. When you are fly fishing, you use a fly that resembles a real insect that the fish feed on naturally. The line is longer and you mimic the movement of the fly or insect on top of the water so that the fish thinks they are biting at a real insect.

Casting is constant in fly fishing. You put the fly out in the water and then draw it back several times so that the fish thinks the fly is landing on the water and then taking off again. With regular fishing, you cast your line and let it rest until the fish bites making the bobber sink into the water.

You can catch some pretty hefty fish using either method, but when you are fly fishing, you have the opportunity to "battle" the fish for survival. This can be extremely satisfying as man battles nature for the top position.
Article Source: http://www.articlesbase.com/pets-articles/information-on-fly-fishing-831444.html

Sea Fishing for Beginners

Fishing
So you're going to give sea angling ago or you are an old timer with years of experience, sea fishing is all about challenging yourself and pushing the envelope and not to forget enjoyment, Sea fishing is no means easy however there are a few ways to improve your fishing.

Other sea anglers around you! Water temperature - especially in the spring water season means just as much lure choice and speed of retrieve. Especially in the spring water season bass fishing success are a mixture and a result of all there components of a bass fisherman's repertoire.

It can be more than said and emphasized that the key to early springtime bass fishing success is a warming trend in which the water temperature generally rises just 4 or 5 degrees Fahrenheit. It's as if only a slight change like this 4 or 5 degrees change in water temperature is more than enough to make the bass fish more active and have them start to move onwards towards that shallow water and onwards to more and shallower water. Of course the actual temperature is relative to whatever region of the country or even countries that if you are fishing. Obviously if you are in Illinois or Michigan warmer water will be the norm as compared to an area such as Northern Manitoba Canada where of course average water temperatures will be cooler.
Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Jadran_Z._E._Transcona

Bass Fishing Boat

Fishing

Every person on the planet that has ever spent time fishing in a bass fishing boat, wants one. They are very convenient and most of them are quite fast. So getting from fishing spot to fishing spot is no problem at all. A traditional bass fishing boat sits very high is the water as well, so with the aid of a trolling motor, the angler is able to fish very shallow water. Most traditional bass fishing boats are also equipped with the latest in fish finding technology, so the angler normally has little problem 'finding' the fish. Getting those fish to bite can be the challenge. The interesting thing is that having one of these traditional bass fishing boats isn't always necessary.

A traditional bass fishing boat, while amazingly nice, comes with a big price tag. A price tag that can easily exceed $25,000! Purchasing a traditional bass fishing boat is literally like purchasing a new car. Sure you can get a used one for a lot less money, but buying a used boat is worse than buying a used car. It can be a real game of Russian roulette; you just never know what's going to happen or how a used boat will perform on the water.
Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Trevor_Kugler

Drift Fishing Structure for Saltwater Bass

Both Rhode Island and Block Island waters contain many areas of structure that will hold bass, and there are many types of structure that attract them. Drift fishing is a technique used to fish structure. The key point to remember about any structure is what makes it useful to stripers. While bass can be very aggressive predators and chase bait across the surface for miles, they prefer in most cases to ambush prey, relying on their ability to make short bursts of speed which allow them to catch many types of baitfish. Structure alone is not always enough, it is usually tidal current running past the structure that makes it a good ambush point. To translate, if you have an area that has some large boulders on the bottom and a strong outgoing tide running past it, this can be an excellent spot to fish for bass. The current will eddie as it passes over and around these boulders, areas which can cause small bait fish to tumble out of control.
Related Articles - Drift, Fishing, Bass,

Canadian Fly in Fishing

When prepairing for any type of trip you must have the basics and also a backup plan. For a fishing trip, or fly in fishing trip the stuff you need is a fishing pole and a place to rest your head. Not really theres a liitle more to it than that. Lets start with a canadian fly in fishing trip. Lets say your going to a resort in ontario. First you will need a plan for dates and times. you dont need to be rushing out the door not know exactly how much time you need for your drive to the float plane. Lets ay you have a 9 hour drive from Minneapolis MN. to Red Lake Ontario. First thing i do is take my car into the shop and give it a quick once over to avoid any breakdown suprises.
Related Articles - Canadian fly in fishing, Fishing in Canada, Canadian fly in fishing trip,

About Fishing Hooks

Fishing hook is not just a hook. Here, we will teach you to how to buy the hooks according to different conditions.
Choose the hooks according to the type of fish. The type of fish is one of the most important factors when you choose a hook. As the season progresses and the fish start getting a little bigger though, many of us put this tackle aside in favor of heavier outfits. Those of us who have read any of the books written by the old-time stripermen like Frank Daignault are well aware of the possibility of losing the fish of a lifetime due to inadequate tackle, and as someone who has landed a few big fish I can tell you that is certainly not out of the question.
More and more however I find myself using lighter tackle throughout the season, and in all honesty I don't think I lose any more fish than if I was out there breaking my back with my 10' surf rod. In fact, I'm quite certain that I hook into more fish using light tackle. The ability to fish comfortably for longer periods of time using a greater variety of lure and bait choices with this downsized tackle can be a real advantage. Don't get me wrong, there are many instances where heavier tackle is a necessity-If I go out looking for that 40lb trophy striper at 2 am I don't bring along my freshwater bass rod-but I do try to keep it light whenever I can.
Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Scott_Peters

Florida Bass Fishing and Family Vacation Combo

Take that Florida bass fishing trip and keep the vacation promise you made to the wife and kids. Finally, you can fool the fish easier at night than during the day. They can't see the hook, leader or line, and they can't examine a lure too closely.

Night fishing in the surf is almost a must in highly populated areas, especially from Memorial Day to Labor Day. In many areas, most surf anglers are forced to fish at night in the summer. During the daytime there are too many bathers and they chase the surf anglers away from the best spots.

Luckily, in the case of the striped bass, this isn't such a hardship. Since they bite best at night during the summer months most anglers I know don't bother going out until well after dark. Then they usually fish hard until the early morning hours or even until daybreak.

Novice surf anglers or those who have never done much night fishing often wonder how it is possible to locate, hook and land fish in the surf on a dark night. Many have asked me such questions as the following: How do you know where to fish? How can you cast at night? How do you land the fish?

It's true that problems and conditions which are easily coped with during the daytime are often more difficult on a dark night. Yet it's surprising how soon you become used to casting, hooking and landing fish at night and enjoying it as much or even more than during the daytime.

The big question that arises with respect to surf fishing at night is how to locate the fish. If you are lucky enough to have a friend who can tip you off, that's a big help. Tackle dealers and outdoors columns in newspapers often tell you the general area to fish. Actually, no one can predict in advance which specific spots will produce a temperamental fish such as the striped bass, because they move around too much and bite best under conditions which change from day to day.

Article From New Ezine Articles

Crappie Fishing - make many fish

If you are ready to step up your crappie fishing you will usually catch more using crappie fishing lures rather then using live bait. Of course this statement is based on knowing what artificial lures to use. When you use crappie fishing lures smaller is better. Look for lures in the 1/4oz or smaller size.

List of crappie fishing lures to use:

· Curly Tail Jigs

· Marabou Jigs

· Weedless Spinners, (they have a jig attached) smallest you can find

· Willow Leaf Blades: Silver Colorado Or Gold Blades

The above listed crappie fishing lures can be bought at any department store, bait shop, or online . Most of these lures can be purchased for very little. Make sure when comparing prices you compare prices on crappie fishing lures that are in the ¼ oz or smaller range.

Suggested ways to use crappie fishing lures:

When Fishing Curly tail Jig crappie fishing lures - This uniquely designed jig head takes your bait to the bottom where the big ones are. It allows you to thread a plastic lure onto the corkscrew and hook it through the tail. The innovative flat-bottom jig head helps the hook stand up at a 60° angle. Your hooked bait stands up straight off the bottom and is free I recommend you use a karlins lunker curley tail. This crappie fishing lure is a good choice to use when using a slip bobber rig.

When Fishing Marabou crappie fishing lures - use the 1/4oz size a good way to fish this crappie fishing lure is use a slip bobber , place a split on the line so the jig falls to a set depth.

When Fishing Weedless Spinner crappie fishing lures use the 1/16oz size . Use when fishing low water visibility muddy or murky water.

Fishing Adventure

<embed src="http://www.youtube.com/get_player" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"width="320" height="266" bgcolor="#FFFFFF"flashvars="flvurl=http://v24.nonxt8.googlevideo.com/videoplayback?id%3De3b0c97b79a7708f%26itag%3D5%26app%3Dblogger%26ip%3D0.0.0.0%26ipbits%3D0%26expire%3D1331595300%26sparams%3Did,itag,ip,ipbits,expire%26signature%3D789F7A541AC2DE1F991B6BE49B790D3C31164A71.6EB2DAB20F9DA794BA5F0E5D7ABC26AD4E4B1A28%26key%3Dck1&iurl=http://video.google.com/ThumbnailServer2?app%3Dblogger%26contentid%3De3b0c97b79a7708f%26offsetms%3D5000%26itag%3Dw160%26sigh%3D8AxIZjCKwquhb1auRR8EcoC5OfY&autoplay=0&ps=blogger"allowFullScreen="true" />

Your First Fishing Rod:
The most important piece of equipment is a fishing rod and the best place to purchase a rod is at a real pro shop or bait and tackle shop. Pro shops usually have a really good return policy. If you get a rod that is not comfortable for you, too stiff or too flexible, too long or too short, they will usually exchange it for a rod that will work better for you. They want your return business for things like bait and tackle.

The Place:

The best place to fish for salmon is in the river when they come up to spawn. The local pro shop should be happy to provide you with the best times for fishing salmon. Salmon spawn at different times and come up the rivers at different intervals throughout the season, so planning is important if you want to fish when the salmon are spawning.

The Boat:

Best to have a flat bottom river boat, but those are expensive. It may not be a good idea to take a regular "V" hull lake boat into the river because the depths can be too shallow and unpredictable.

The Guide?

Another exciting way to experience your first salmon trip is by hiring a guide. You'll learn more from the guide then on your own. It can be pricey, but it's worth it. Something to think about.

Shore Fishing

No boat? No worries. Fishing from shore is a wonderful way to experience this fantastic hobby as well.

The Bait:

Ask the at the pro shop what works best in your area or the area you are going to fish. They usually suggest salmon eggs. They are cured in many different ways and everyone has their favorite. The reason why you would want to use salmon eggs is because after salmon spawn, the parent fish stay around the nest to protect the eggs from predators like trout.

The currents will also carry the eggs away. When this happens the parent fish gently pick the eggs in their mouth and bring them back to the nest. So, when you dangle salmon eggs in the water after the salmon have spawned, they will see the eggs and assume that some have floated out of the nest. When they go to retrieve them, they get hooked!

Fishing Tips In Canada

Fishing Rod Casting
The action of a fishing rod is the behavior of the rod while being cast by an individual. The action of the rod may be the same for all the people who cast with it and it may be different for every person who casts with it. Very few casters cast exactly alike. Their hand, arm, muscular and nervous systems are never exactly alike and they con¬sequently perform a cast with a rod differently than any other hand and arm, etc. The action of most rods will react substantially the same for all casters, however. When a rod does not react the same for one caster as another, the action of the rod for each caster is different. That is, a rod may be called a stiff action by one caster and a med¬ium stiff action by another, and both are correct. The action of a rod, then, depends directly on the particular caster using it and may vary from caster to caster.

We will discuss rod action as it applies to fly rods, only. The rod actions are only discussed in general terms.

Wet Fly Fishing Rod Casting

WEJT FLY ACTION: Years ago, a “wet fly action” fly rod was considered to be a rod that was very limber and which bent freely from the grip to the tip. The theory of such limber, soft rods was that they allowed the flies to fall gently into the water and the line to fall straight into the water. Either claim has questionable advantages under many conditions. Gradually, as the years have gone by, fisher¬men began to find out that these old “buggy whip wet fly rods” were actually poor rods for casting the wet fly and that rods suitable for dry fly casting generally cast wet flies much more satisfactorily. Act¬ually, wet fly rods are non-existent today except when a maker turns out a poor dry fly rod and sells it to some novice as a “wet fly rod.”

Quick Trip Fishing

I was able to make another quick trip fishing down to Riggins Idaho Wednesday I knew before I left that fishing would be tough but I just needed to get out for awhile. With high pressure setting up and the cold nights we have been having expecting any more would have been total optimism on my part.

The drive down from New Meadows was relaxing and I was glad to see how much the snow has been receding on my way down. There were a number of deer and elk out and it is always nice to see them. If you have some good binoculars or a spotting scope and want to see a real nice bull stop at the rest area just this side of Rapid River and look to the west, there is a real nice bull hanging out up there and he is well worth stopping and looking for if you enjoy watching Elk. He has not yet dropped his antlers put that will be happening some time soon.

Any way back to steelhead fishing I only fished two holes Shorts bar and at the Park in Riggins. I notice quite a few steelhead roll in each of the holes but getting a hit proved to be another story you know how steelhead are they are either hitting or they are not. Well as I suspected with the weather they weren't. It was a nice day on the river though the wind was very light and the sun was shining and it actually got quite warm. I tried all my tricks hoping to get lucky and when I got the first hit I was watching some deer up on the hill steelhead one fisher 0 (#1- Rule be ready! opps!!)

I fished for about another hour and half before I switch to a small Crappie jig some times using these small jigs will produce fish. After fishing with this for about thirty minutes I got a hit and hooked into a steelhead well I knew that this small jig meant that I needed to be careful after fighting the fish for several minutes I was sure I was going to win the battle and then it was like some one was throwing rocks at it, any he turned and headed back to the Ocean and it didn't matter what I tried he was going. Well it didn't take long for the light hook on this jig to straighten and now the score is steelhead 2 fishermen 0.

I fished for about another hour but I never got another hit I hope to make it back this weekend with a rain storm coming in it should be better fishing as long as the wind will stay down.

Until next time

Steelhead, Salmon and Trout Fishing has been a passion of mine since I was a young boy. Most of my free time was spent on lakes and streams here in the northwest, and I have picked up on some interesting facts about fishing for these species over the last 45 years. I would like to share them with you through articles and at my websites I hope you find them helpful and enjoyable. So please stop by check out some information or just stock up on your fishing gear. It is an experience that could make a success out of any holiday, however short it may be.
Nevertheless, careful planning is the only possible way to guarantee that the fishing trip does not turn into a boring and annoying thing. No matter if you are a novice or an expert in this sort of activities, the adventure and fun cannot be replaced by anything else. Patience, precision and timing are among the skills which are absolutely necessary during a fishing trip. The wealth of the waters can always nourish the desire of catching your favorite fish at your favorite destination.

Either that you wish for a professionally guided fishing trip or that you want the challenging experience of a trip, planned by no one else but you, any sunny day can become a memorable fishing trip. Choosing the right destination for each and every season is the most important thing that you must do before hitting the road. Before everything else, you must have detailed information about the destination and the climatic condition. Some places may require a fishing license. Therefore, in order to avoid any unpleasant event that could ruin your fishing trip, you must gather all kinds of details about the location you want to be heading for.

It is a commonly known thing that there are certain equipments that are absolutely necessary for the success of any fishing trip. I am speaking about things such as tackle, bait, fly rod, reel, line and spare spool and waders. In order for everything to go smoothly, a first aid kit and a detailed location map must not be forgotten.

If you already have all this prepared and are set to go, Mexico is a very interesting place for the fishing trip of your life. With the Pacific Ocean and the Sea of Cortez on the west and the Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean on the east, Mexico can bring us all a really special experience. However, Mexico has many other intersting areas for tourists to explore during their fishing trips.

Drift Fishing

Best Location To Drift Fish For Crappie

The hardest part about catching crappie while drift fishing is locating the schools. You will need a topographical map of the area, and should have a good depth, fish finder. You can pick the topographical map up at the local bait store. (It's advisable to go there to get the latest fishing report anyway.) Crappie school in open water and if you can find the schools you can catch a good batch of crappie.

Also it has been my experience , the crappie you catch in open water while drift fishing seem to be bigger. The first step you should before you get out on the water is locate the deepest part of body of water you are fishing on from your topographical map, this will be your starting point. You will be fishing the break area's on the bottom surface. To Locate a break area look for changes in depth on your depth finder. Any break deep to shallow, or shallow to deep are good spots to drift. Try to avoid any flat dead pan bottom surface areas. You will just waist your time in these areas

How to Set Your Drift for Crappie Fishing

Locate the winds direction and set you boat in position to drift along the break. (change in bottom depth) Make sure your boat drifts along the deeper side of the break. You will use your trolling motor to keep your drift in position along the deep side of the break. If you don't have a trolling motor your have to use you boat motor to get back in position. (this can spook the fish, that's why a trolling motor is recommended. The Depth finder will be your guide to stay along the deep side of the break, and to locate the fish.

Set up a weighted crappie rig to just touch bottom with sinker position your baits about 18 to 24 inches off the bottom. As you drift, watch the rod tip, it will bounce up and down slightly as the weight drags along the bottom. If the tip of the rod remains still the sinker is not in contact with the bottom. When you catch the first fish drop one of your marker buoys to mark the spot. Continue to drift until another fish is caught or about 75 yards, then drop another buoy. This marks your drift location for a return drift or anchor position. Drift about 50 more yards past the second buoy then start up your boat motor and go around the buoys approximately 75 yards away. Know move your boat back in position for another drift. Normally the school will be concentrated in one area. Keep working the spot until you get no more bites. If your lucky you can catch your limit and a short time.
You can use this technique on any body of water so have fun! And good luck!

Sport Fishing

I have grown up my entire life in Hawaii near the ocean and admit that I have never gone sport fishing. He was bored one day and asked me what fun things there are to do here in Hawaii. I live on the North Shore and the activities are limitless but there is a catch, you need money to have fun.

I told my uncle about sport fishing and a charter that runs out of Haleiwa harbor. Live shrimp, Fiddler Crabs, and Sand fleas are great baits to entice a sheepshead bite! With warmer weather between the fronts, look for some slot sized redfish to periodically show up around the bridge, jetties, and piers close to the pass! Rainbow trout are a very popular species of fish that area lot of fun to catch. This is especially when it comes to native rainbows. It has always seemed to me that native trout are much harder fighters, and any experienced trout fisherman will tell you that native rainbows are much more beautiful than their genetically altered, stocked cousins. When I use the word 'native' to describe trout, I'm referring to trout that have been born naturally or at least have grown up in the river, stream, or lake that you're fishing for them in.

Now that I've completed my rant on native rainbows versus stocked (or planted) rainbows, let's get down to the business of how to fish for them. The first thing to keep in mind is that light rods and reels should be employed for trout fishing. As a matter of fact, I personally use ultra light rods and reels, but nothing heavier than light action should be used for rainbow trout fishing.

You gear should be spooled with light line as well. I personally use no fishing line heavier than four-pound test for trot fishing, but line as heavy as six pound test is passable. However, no line heavier than six-pound test should be employed. This is for two reasons. First, rainbow trout are found in cold, clear water and second they have very keen eyesight. For these reasons, the trout can easily detect your fishing line if it's too heavy. And if the fish detect your line, they are much less apt to bite.

Fish Pictures - Anglers Post Pictures of Fish - Trophy Trout & Big Bass Photos

Pictures of Fish from all over the world!
Welcome to Fishstring.com the world's virtual fish stringer. Novices in the sport should take the opportunity to learn about the different type of bass fishing hooks and their particular uses and advantages. Off Shank Hooks Off shank hooks are best used with artificual bait. They feature a bend at the top of the hook where it is connected to the fishing line. Shank hooks are constructed in this manner by design. The way they function is by turning directly in to the fish's mouth when the hook is set. The way the fisher sets the hook impacts whether or not he or she catches a fish, particularly when using artificial lures. While regular hooks can be effective, shank hooks help catch a greater quantity of bass fish. They also deliver consistent results. Straight Shank Hooks Straight shank hooks are very effective when used with live bait. Minnows, for example, work very well with this straight shank hooks. The design of a straight shank hook doesn't inhibit the movement of the live bait. Because this type of hook allows the bait to swim, the bait is able to do its job. The bait's job is to draw fish to it. Upon striking at the bait, the fish actually inhales it. When the hook is set, it then gets caught in the hard bony sides of the mouth of the fish. Super Sharpened Shank Super sharpened shank hooks work well with artificial bait. With the super sharpened shank, the user is able to put the artifical bait higher on the hook. This keeps fish from getting away as a result of getting the bait wih shoreter strikes. Each of type of bass fishing hooks is unique. These hooks can be used in many different ways. Bass fishers have many choices to make when it comes to selecting fishing hooks. Each individual must select the best bass fishing hooks for his or her purposes. It comes down to a matter of personal preference. For more info see http://www.knowbassfishing.com/ on Bass Fishing Outsmarting Savvy Bass In some of the most popular fishing locations, many bass are able to separate lures from food. Bass are even able to even detect certain types of hooks. Bass fishing hooks are still effective, though, because they are made to entice the bass to strike at things that are not food. When you are dealing with these very aware fish, though, the best approach is to hide your hooks as much as possible. You have to outsmart the bass. Remember that you are on their turf. The bass fish are at home in the fishing waters. They are more familiar with them than you, or any human, will ever be. Therefore, it is crucial to be very particular with your fishing processes. A savvy bass fish might spot your hook and stay away due to recogizing the risk it poses. Some fish are even able to snatch the bait off the hook before the fishing enthusiast realizes a fish was anywhere around. Good fishers will stay very aware and notice whatever action happens to set their hooks.

Source : Articlecity

Salmon Fishing Tackle

Like the hunter with his gun, or the pugilist with his glove, fishing has its tackle. A best friend, a prized possession, the relationship is much like Tiger Woods and his True Temper Dynamic Gold Driver. A reciprocated coexistence with both ends benefiting each other’s facility: Woods with his precision swing and the trusty driver converting the force to several yards.

The angler with his skill is expressed on the tip of the line. Some are good in presenting the bait, fine tuned jiggling and mooching. Others are good in choosing appropriate decoys, lure, color and scent combination that is irresistible to a certain fish. Other’s smell the fishes a hundred yards distant, paying even the minutest details in underwater growth and crevices.

The salmon angler is expressed with his salmon fishing tackle. Not just any tackles, it must be intended for the specific game. A stout graphite construction rod will be too stiff for the soft jiggling intended for the river trout, and the fly tackle intended for blue water fishes might be too stiff for the soft and deft touch intended for the Chinook.

So get your salmon fishing tackle. Remember, salmons require specific salmon fishing tackles to trick them into biting. Not an all around tackle for every situation but a salmon fishing tackle optimal for a specific fishing art.

Here are some good ideas for any salmon fishing tackles.

Fly Fishing Tackles

While landing a tarpon on a fly requires above human skill and dexterity, landing a Chinook on a fly CAN be done. In fact it has been done a countless time. Use a double handed rod is the best and it should have a relatively long rod around 10 feet. And this rod should have ample power especially in the butt section to effectively handle even a 10 pound freaking Chinook. Compensate choosing your salmon fishing tackle with your strength, or you may risk losing lifting strength. Remember, the longer the rod, the heavier will it be on landing a salmon.

The Airflo SLS Fly Rod Special at GFS: http://www.gofishingshop.co.uk is a mean 10ft fly rod that should be swift enough to deliver the snag but robust to handle a King salmon on the line, provided the line won’t snap.

The Winston LT Fly Rod is also one salmon fishing tackle that comes highly recommended. Soft tips are so essential for deft handling and Winston LT Fly Rod is prevalent with them. Care to take a look? It’s available at: http://www.tcoflyfishing.com

Salmons are among the fish species that have remarkably sensitive sense of smell, so throwing them just about anything won’t work at all. Use a strong smelling cured salmon roe is one of the best baiting technique. Since salmon roe can be quite a rare find, you can substitute them with smelt or minnows.

Source :Articlecity

Bass Fishing in Shallow Water

Bass Fishing in Shallow Water

Bass fish, including the largemouth are notorious for feeding in shallow waters. For this reason novice anglers will use contour maps, or depth finders to locate areas where bass flock together. Since bass will scatter in shallow waters, it is important to find structures where fish group. Novice anglers will avoid frightening bass in shallow water as well. The fish tend to fright easily. Moreover, anglers will move around the waters, scouting the areas. As well, novice anglers will use a variety of lures, particular the presentations (Lures) that retract swiftly. NOTE: When bass join in schools, it is easiest to catch more than one fish.

Anglers who hunt bass often return to locations where they had previously caught fish. For this reason, bass anglers will mark areas to reduce confusion. Take markers with you if you intend to head off on a bass fishing trip. Novice anglers also recommend that you avoid making noises that scare the fish. If you use a boat while fishing, make sure that you avoid running the overboard. In addition, cast your line in areas that do not shadow the fish. Furthermore, when you cast your line, make sure that you extend it away from the boat. The distance you cast often brings good results.

How to choose bass bait:

Anglers often use crankbait or spinnerbait to catch largemouth bass, or related bass. The bait is one of the easiest to retract, or replace quickly. Spinnerbait rotates in the water, especially when the line is reeled in. In brushy or weedy areas, anglers will use weed-less presentations to avoid entrapment, i.e. entangling their line. In brush clumps, anglers will use rods that are rigged with plastic bait, such as artificial worms. The rod and lures assist anglers in working sufficiently. Tip: In deep water, using bread dough, I have caught some of the largest bass in Florida waters.

Fishing:

Anglers will consider casts, fan-cast, spot-cast, position, movement, and lures when fishing. The lures are factored into the structure. For instance, if bass structure is shallow anglers will consider poppers, Texas-Riggs, Floating Weed-less lures, such as the artificial worms, buzz bait, etc. Anglers will also consider spinnerbait, crankbait, artificial minnows, spinners, weed-less spoon, and so on.

Holding your catch

When anglers cast spinnerbait in shallow structures, the angler will direct his catch away from the bushes, weeds, trees, etc, to avoid entwining. To fan-cast, anglers will direct their boat to flat waters. Anglers will gradually and quietly, use their troll motor to manipulate the boat to avoid disturbing the fish.

Boat position plays a part in bass fishing as well. Anglers will often quietly move their boat to the center waters, or channels of the creek before casting. The lure is retrieved at the point of drop off. In addition, the angler may move his boat along the channels and continue casting his line in various parts of the water. Use your maps, or depth finder for best results.

Areas in the water where the shorelines have slopes, the angler will move slowly. In addition, the angler will maintain his boat at a distance to avoid frightening the fish, as well as avoid weeds. During spot-cast, anglers will search for areas, such as flats, sunken islands, clumps where thick weed resides, single bushes or trees, etc. Bass tend to dwell in these areas.

NOTE: Always cast your line toward the wind for best results.

Shallow bass fishing structures differ from deep-water fishing. It is important to learn that deep-water bass fishing is more, extreme than common shallow water bass fishing.

Whether you are fishing out in the sea or in a river, there are always challenges to get round. It is necessary to have patience and try your utmost to catch the fish when they finally turn up.

First of all, you will need to get a fishing license from your local government and the laws regarding fishing are different depending on what state you live in.For salt water fishing you will have to get a boat. Depending on how many people join you, the vessel size would vary from a row boat to a yacht.

In shore fishing can be done on a fifteen foot sailboat with a cuddy forward to shelter passengers from the rain. The boat needs to be sturdy so that waves or bumps along the beach and rocks don’t affect it but it shouldn’t be too heavy.

Start by throwing your line out at the edges not the middle so that it doesn’t scare the fish away. You will encourage the fish in the middle by sticking to the edges. A cod line will be a benefit to a person who wants to go “down below”. You can use a perch line as well. If it is mackerel fishing season, you can benefit from a mackerel jig too.

The best time to start fishing is on ebb tide. That is early in the morning because that would make your day more productive and if the wind it light or fair, it would help you on your journey home. Try to find a spot where the locals go fishing. That is your best bet for a successful day.

Don’t be too impatient, many anglers would move from one spot onto the next and this motion may reduce your chances that day. Start from the shallowest spot to the deepest, throwing your line out a few times without changing your bait.

Another thing that may affect your fishing chances are sharks. If you have one following you, pour fish blood onto a newspaper or a paper towel. Roll it into a ball and throw it overboard. The sharks will follow the current and the fish will return thereby increasing your likelihood of obtaining fish.

Source : Articlecity

Master The Water Condition When Fly Fishing

When fly fishing, aside from the type of fly, rod, species to catch, location, and other fishing gear, another factor needed with much consideration is the water where you intend to fish. Not just the type of water, regardless if it's fresh or salty, the condition of the water plays a major role in the behavior of the fish.
You can tell more about different water conditions by seeking out simple fishing tips from the world wide web. Most likely, the health of the fish depends heavily on the type and condition of the water. If you are wondering why your catching rate is different from other days, don't blame it to yourself. You are not trying to scoop the fish out of the water by hand anyway so it wouldn't be appropriate to question your skill about this.
Try to focus on the water. Remember that aside from your presence, the fish, and what the fish eats, there are other components in the water which affects everything else that dwells in it. So, think of the pH balance of the water, the chemistry and the overall condition at the time which seems so difficult for you to get a catch.
Take note that the pH balance in the water is important to the fish as how air is important to us. When there is too much acid or if the water is too basic in its pH count, the fish will no longer be able to maintain its balance with its body as well. What could happen eventually is that the fish could die. First it would stop eating and then it would die.
The deeper portions of water where your target fish is located could be an area too much for you especially during periods of non-feeding. Fish in this part of the water could strike so it's important you take extra protective gear just in case.
About the Author
Fly Fishing Tips is a perfect site in the internet which contains useful information about fly fishing.

source: Goarticles
